WELCOME
Welcome to the Indiana Insurance Guaranty Association (IIGA) Web site. We hope that you find this site helpful in providing information regarding the purpose of the IIGA and how it protects Indiana policyholders and claimants in the event of a property and casualty insurance company insolvency.
WHO ARE WE?
The IIGA, a non-profit, unincorporated entity created in 1971 and governed by IC 27-6-8-1 to 19, is the property and casualty insurance guaranty association for the State of Indiana. The association is composed of most insurance companies licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in Indiana.
WHAT DO WE DO?
In the event that a member insurer is deemed insolvent and is ordered to be liquidated by a court, Indiana state law enables the IIGA to provide protection on covered claims up to the limits specified by state law to certain Indiana-based policyholders and claimants who are holders of property and casualty insurance policies issued by the insolvent member insurer.
We hope the information provided in this Web site is useful. For more information we invite you to visit the Frequently Asked Questions section of the site. Please refer to the Contact Us section if you have any questions for the IIGA.
